South Park 9/11 Truth

Here is proof about the 9/11 conspiracy...or...lack thereof. Seriously however, if you believe that there was some conspiracy I suggest you kill yourself now in the interest of natural selection.

Detroit Most Liberal City

Detroit is the most liberal U.S. city while Provo, Utah, is the most conservative, a study of voting patterns indicates.

The list was compiled by the Bay Area Center for Voting Research in California through an examination of voting in 237 U.S. cities with populations of more than 100,000.

"Detroit and Provo epitomize America's political, economic and racial polarization," BACVR Director Jason Alderman said in a release Thursday. "As the most conservative city in America, Provo is overwhelmingly white and solidly middle class. This is in stark contrast to Detroit, which is impoverished, black and the most liberal."

Gary, Ind., was found to be the second-most liberal followed by Berkeley, Calif.; Washington; and Oakland, Calif. The group that did the ranking is based in Berkeley, not far from Oakland.

Texas, home to President George Bush, has three of the five most conservative cities, as determined by BACVR, including Lubbock and Abilene in the Nos. 2 and 3 spots and Plano in the fifth spot. Hialeah, Fla., was ranked fourth.

BACVR offered no detailed breakdown of its methodology.

Perhaps interesting to some, although not too much of a surprise to me since I live in the Metro Detroit Area. The last week or so, I've been working downtown on the "Super Bowl XL Cleanup Project" which had me going around the city looking for anything that was undesirable - be it graffiti, broken windows, overgrown vegetation, rundown buildings or anything else of that nature. For each object found, we were required to indicate its presence on a map, and then take a picture. Throughout a standard 8-hour day, we accumulated approximately 200 pictures. There were almost thirty different "sections" throughout the city around Ford Field which needed cleanup. Each section took between 1/2 to 1 1/2 days to complete.

The state that the city of Detroit is in is a sad one. A corrupt mayor - Kwame Kilpatrick - who will most likely be voted out after one term is partially to blame, but the recent history of Detroit is what is more disturbing. In all reality, the majority of white people in the area are racist towards blacks and vice versa. Those within the inner city appear to have no will to accomplish anything. Throughout my whole life, going to Detroit almost always guaranteed one thing - being asked for change by a bum. Walking through the city to help restore it was no different. The bums usually migrate out around 10-11 in the morning and stay out until it gets too hot, with the exception of events downtown such as a Tigers' game, where they can ask more people. The problem wasn't with someone "down on hard luck just struggling to get some food" but rather blatant dependency on others. Here are a couple random things said to me while downtown in Detroit working on the cleanup project:

"Give me some money so I can buy some cigarettes and a beer...I'm an alcoholic."

"People like you are ruining the city. This area used to be all black and then you whites came in and fucked it up." (After telling the guy we were CLEANING up the city)

I firmly believe that Detroit is liberal, but I don't believe for a second that it is the most liberal in the whole country. I don't even feel it is the most liberal in the state. That distinction belongs to the hellhole known as Ann Arbor, Michigan - Population 115,213. Imagine a place where everyone is better than you. A place where you can smoke weed and if caught, only face a fine of $5. Imagine a place where the liberalism is so blatant, that there is only one viewpoint. A place where diversity is applauded, unless it comes to political diversity. I play a game when I go to Ann Arbor, which I still haven't completed. The game involves looking for a George W. Bush bumper sticker. The first person in the car with me who spots a Bush sticker wins the game. I've been to Ann Arbor numerous times, and still haven't seen one. I have however seen possibly every Kerry sticker or Anti-Bush sticker known to man.
